John has spent over two decades solving complex, adaptive problems for organizations of every size. As a commercial and IP litigator for two international law firms, he successfully represented numerous companies in must-win litigation.
In the financial industry, John led the turn-around effort at the Bank of Kaukauna in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, working with dozens of small businesses to help them survive. He also acquired and rebooted a cyber security firm specializing in regulated institutions.
As an entrepreneur, John is the co-founder of ag-tech startup Fork Farms. He is active in the Wisconsin startup ecosystem and serves as an advisor to a number of early-stage companies. He is also a member of Tundra Angels, an investment group based out of Northeast Wisconsin.
John strongly believes in the importance of engaging and growing our communities. He serves on the board and as Chair of the Awards Committee of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). He also serves on the boards of Tandem Press, the Trout Museum of Art, and Imagine Fox Cities. He lives in Kaukauna with his amazing partner of over twenty years, Dr. Patricia Brogan, and their human person, Niamh.
John co-created Aptum because he believes that although small businesses are the lifeblood of our communities, it has never been harder to find the talent and support necessary to be successful. Aptum adapts to provide businesses the support they need to thrive.
